Day 30 — Find your voice

I’ve had the pleasure of working with great constituents on a variety of issues through my six legislative sessions.  Most of my legislation has been generated by conversations with folks right in my District who have approached me with an idea, a suggestion, or even a complaint.  Just this week I’ve had three bills pass out of committees and begin working their way through the process have begun in this very way.  Today’s post is a homage to those I’m working with this session, and all those who follow the issues and are involved in their own spheres.  Thank you for all you do to make your families and communities better!

This group and I have been working on getting state certification for Music Therapists for two years.  This bill got a unanimous vote out of the House Natural Resources, Agriculture, and the Environment Committee this morning.

Constituent Ron Mortenson and I have worked together on protection of voter registration information for several years.  This year’s bill has passed out of the House and is on it’s way through the Senate with co-sponsor Sen. John Valentine.

Also, my bills on Air Quality, Worker’s Compensation, Medical Licensure, and Medical Waste Incineration all have constituents involved, but it’s clear I need to get my camera out more frequently!

Moral of the today’s post is that if you want to see a change, find your voice and give me a call.  I’m happy to help!
